Ninth tenth eleventh and twelve

This IS my last post for my 12 days Bangkok trip
Gosh~ I cannot believe that is March already and I still haven't finish it yet.

Imma squeeze everything in this last post because there's really nothing much left to share.

As the trip was getting to the end, Oyan and I needed our own space from each other.
I think I annoyed her too much already.

So on the last few days we actually went our own ways.

Sad to say this but I will not do this in Malaysia, but I feel very safe in Bangkok.

During my time alone (well, not really alone), I talked to God.
And God is special.
You never know what He'll say and when He'll say it.

Sometimes He will not answer that particular question that I asked.
But sometimes He answers.

And sometimes, He will just tell me things that surprises me.

During my last few moments with Him, He actually reminded me something that happened long long long ago.
It was something that I overheard when I was younger.
It wasn't very mean or harsh and I know the person who said it didn't mean any harm.
But the problem is, the devil had used that against me.
And it had sown a seed so deep that I thought it was part of who I am.
But is not.

I think, this year God is redefining somethings in my life.
Some parts of my life that I've forgotten.
Some parts of my life that I've gotten comfortable with.
Some parts of my life that is silently killing my soul.

That's how I got the "theme" of my new season.

The dilemma of this long trip was I felt very excited and thought that I had all the time I need to enjoy.
Then as time passed by and I started to struggle, I wanted the trip to end.
But when it’s going to end, I didn’t want it to end.

Day 8 was a day of encounter.

Because God spoke to me through a movie.
God speaks to me through a lot of different ways such as books, movies, drama and musics.
Sometimes something random that I just saw and God will pop in some revelation to me and hit me at the heart. :)
He always does that.
I love it.

Anyway, the movie channel of the hotel kept repeating the same movie over and over again but I didn't had the time to watch it because it always clashed with our schedule.

I forgotten what happened that day, but we were in the hotel room and I think Oyan is sleeping or something else and I just watch movie like I always does.

And the movie I watched is none other than “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”.

I always thought this movie is a story about someone very successful and how he became successful.
Totally not my cup of tea but I watched it anyway. And to me, it was filled with wisdom.

I normally don’t do this, but I wrote down the 2 lines that impacted me the most.

“The beauty does not call for attention.”

“The reason I’m day dreaming so much is because I’m not living the life I want and ought to live.”

The last time I checked, I day dream lesser.
Is a good sign right?

I just realised something, I’m half way through my 12 days in Bangkok posts.

Oh! Kevin texted me a few days ago and told me that he received my postcard from Bangkok.
Finally. After 3 months.

Day 7 is a very special day.

You’ll know why.

We went back to Platinum Mall and walked around the area.

If you think Platinum Mall is the only place to shop there then you are WRONG!

Cause there’s so many other shopping malls there that have cheaper stuff!

Like many other outlets you can find, we went into a shop that is full of t-shirts.

Oyan went crazy and chose a lot of different designs.

The owner speaks a little English so we had a chance to talk to her.

Apparently the mall is pretty unknown to outsiders so their sales are not very good.

By the time we went there is almost afternoon and we were her first business that day.

Pretty sad to hear that.

When Oyan was paying, I had this urge to pray for her.

But I didn’t cause I was super scared.

Then when we were leaving, I felt that it will be now or never.

So I asked Oyan if we should pray for her and we eventually went back and prayed for her.
 :]

Was super happy and glad that we did!

Though she was the only person we prayed for, but is better than nothing! Hoho!

As I read through my diary, I have no idea what I did on day 6.

My diaries are not filled with the places and the event that took place, but more on what I felt at the end of the day and my constant conversations with God.

So I look through my phone and found only 5, yes just FIVE blur picture taken that day.
But is good enough to recall my memories.

I walked around the area we stayed that day and ended up in the wet market.
I think this part of me is pretty much influenced by Oyan because she likes to go wet market when we travel.
I’m kinna like it as well!

Wet market is not a tourist filled place but a place where you really blend in with the people and the culture.
I even visited the wet market during my trip to Taiwan!
And I loved it!

Super tempted to get some vege so that we can cook in the apartment.
But after giving it a second thought, I decided not to cause I don't want to lessen my chances to eat Thai Street food! Yummy!

We went back to Terminal 21 since is very near to the place we stayed and we went and watch Big Hero 6!
This is my first cinema experience in Thailand and is pretty awesome but also awkward!

Because it was the King’s birthday month, so they played some song dedicated to their King before the movie.
We weren’t sure what it was and didn't know if we will get arrested if we didn't stand.

So we stood until the song ended.
To our surprise, the locals didn't stand, but most that stood are foreigners. ><

At the end of the day I reflected the turmoil within me with God.

Because as mentioned earlier many people think that we’re crazy to go on to this trip.
And those comments were eating me up slowly.
I was so concerned that I couldn't enjoy the trip to the max.
But I’m glad that at the end of everyday, I’ll surrender all to God.

And He is good. :]

Ello! I’m back to continue my 12 days Bangkok trip story!

Let’s talk about day 5!

As I check my diary, day 5 was a pretty fruitful day.
Fruitful not just because the stuff we bought, but also the place and people we meet.

One of the place we wanted to go badly during the trip is Erawan aka 四面佛.
Can you believe that we actually pass by this place during our Bangkok trip in July earlier and totally did not realise it was so freaking near!

I was shocked to find out about that later when I did my homework for this December trip. ><

When other go there and give their sacrifices and wishes for their dream come true or for a better year, me and Oyan just sat there and watch.

Is n a while since I last visited a temple.
I think the last temple I visited in the one in Myanmar.
So I just walk around looking at the people there do their things.

We didn’t stay long though, because of the smoke and because is time for SHOPPING!
Bought quite a number of stuff but Oyan refuse to put all the cloths on the bed and take a pit because she say is too mainstream. LOL
Isn't it mainstream to go against mainstream? XD

And on our way back to our hotel, we stopped by at a street stall to get our dinner fix.
But the usual stall (yes, we have our usual stall even though we just been there for a few days) that we buy from was no where to be seen, so we just randomly picked one.

And there is where we met a beautiful boy (if you know what I mean) there!
She’s so pretty that I feel so embarrassed to be a girl! LOL
Just kidding, but she is seriously very very pretty!
She speaks Chinese and she helped us to communicate with the stall owner!
Super friendly~
Wished I had the chance to know her better.

And that’s all for day 5!

Is been a while since I really sit down and write something from my heart. Trust me, I’ve tried to squeeze stuff out of my brain and I get nothing. I think I still have my holiday mood on. Many people told me that we always get things done after Chinese New Year, anytime between Christmas and Chinese New Year is consider holiday. So I guess is understandable that I’ve been not having the right mood lately?

Anyway, I decided to really write something. You know, just to get the engine started and I decided to do my day 4 post of my 12 days in Thailand. I know right, is been more than a month. Do I really still remember what happened? Especially in a daily basis! Oh well, thank God I write every day before I sleep (sometimes after I sleep) during that trip. So I can clearly remember the things that happened and how I felt that day. So day 4 story it is.

Day 4 was particularly disappointing. We went to Silom where we both agree upon before that trip. I decided to go to this place is because I heard someone praying for this place and I Google search it and it happen to be in Bangkok. This happen after we decided to go to Bangkok.

So we went and walked around that place. Since both of us were unfamiliar with that place, we just literally walked around. And after hours of walking around, we literally did nothing! NOTHING! We just walked around.

And that is when I doubted the whole purpose of going to Bangkok. We just walked around like zombie, observing our surrounding and also the people there.

I really felt very discouraged. To summarize day 4 in one word will be DISCOURAGED!

But God is just way too amazing! When I’m still dwelling in my emo-ness, He sent me my big brother to encourage me! Kevin texted me and ask me how I was doing and to cut down the long story, he encourages me just enjoy and surrender to God. He asked me not to set my own purpose, hear God’s calling and don’t be stress. I was super touched! Touched to have this brother. Touched that God prompted him during prayer meeting to text me. Touched by God’s love. Thank you Abba!

And then day 4 ended up to be a day of encouragement. :]

-End of stay at 'home' Day 3-

Second

Friday, January 2, 2015

I think out of all the days in Bangkok day 2 is one of my favorite.
Though I was tired at the end of the day, but I enjoyed walking around the city of Bangkok freely.

We started of the day by going to church.
We went to the same church we went earlier in July.
We manage to talk to the pastor after the service and he prayed for us.
Oyan was a happy girl. She really really likes that pastor.

But her excitement didn’t last long because I wanted to walk around and it was a very very long journey. XD

I think God rewards wonderers that wonder with Him.
Because we ended up at this small little railway and I had fun there!
I always wanted to take picha along railway and my dream came true!

Yup! I did play my ukulele while walking around.
But it didn’t last long and I didn’t sing very loud lar~
*shy*

Unknowingly, we walked pass 2 BTS station and decided to take the train to Siam instead of walk there.
I told Oyan that if is only a station away, we shall walk.
She was relieved when she found out that is 2 stations away! LOL

We spent the day at Siam and acted like a tourist by having tourist food.

And take tourist picha.

Also found a lovely place that sells a lot of stationeries!
*heaven on earth*

We also went to SomTam 5 that is recommended by KampungBoyCityGirl.

Love their friend chicken!! *yums*

One thing about Bangkok is that there’s a market everywhere you go.
So we just shopped around for awhile before we head back to Asoke and ended our day with this at Terminal 21’s food court.

At the end of the day, Oyan was tired and she got a headache.
I think is from all the walking around.
Oopps… My bad!

I admit that after the trip to Bangkok recently, I was too busy until I had no mood to pen down my thoughts.

But after concluding 2014 in my previous post, a small fire is ignited.

Brought Chrome Heart: Origins to Bangkok!

We stayed at another hotel this time.
As we are going to be here for 12 days, Oyan wanted a place which is more spacious and she found this place which was awesome for us!

They gave us 2 single beds! Yeah!

This TV can roll to the other side!

The other side.
*That's Oyan looking through the kitchen.*

The Kitchen! Small but have all that we need!

The toilet is a bit small though.
No bathtub. :(

This is outside the toilet.

Where I spend most of my time watching drama.

We stayed at Citadines Sukhumvit 23 which is located near Asok BTS.
OK.  Is not that near, but it doesn’t feel far because there’s a lot to see along the way.
*We took a taxi from the airport and it only costed us 370 Bath including toll.*

And because the place is surrounded by office towers, we experienced a glimpse of a “normal” Bangkok life instead of just normal tourist experience.
And the most important thing is there’s A LOT of street food nearby! *yums*.

Our first night, we met 2 lovely aunties from Taiwan when we haunted for food.
The 2 aunties were super friendly and lovely!
One of them is 60++ years old!!!!
She was sooo friendly that she kept holding my hand. ><
I felt super uncomfortable.
But then… err… I still let her…

They asked us to join them to go to a night market.
But both of us were not as semangat as them! *shame on us!*

We just walked around the area and went back to our temporary home. XD
