Prayer closet

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

During a worship session, the worship leader said "prayer closet" and this image below came to mind.

I think his exact words are "go in to your prayer closet."

err... excuse me.
May I know why we need a specific closet to pray?

Few week ago I went to visit another church and this is what happened during their go and meet someone new 3 minutes.

She was super embarrassed and I just think is funny!
Do I look like a butcher?

I think I'm too pretty for that lar~ XD

I’m a princess

Saturday, October 18, 2014

I don’t know if is just me or others has the same dream as well.

When I was younger, I always day dream that someday some rich man will come and tell me that I’m actually his daughter and my parents just helped him to take care of me all these while.
(Watched too much drama already!)
And from an ugly duckling, I will be a beautiful swan.

You might not believe me, but this actually happened to me.
The one that came to “claim” me is not any ordinary rich man.
In fact he is a King. Not any ordinary king, but King of all kings.

And that makes me a princess.
(A Royal)

He gave (lend) me to my parents to take care of me and though I didn’t know, I’ve always been his princess and I’ve always belonged to Him.

Those insecurity and identity crisis of “who am I?” and “who do I belong to?” suddenly got answered by this single statement. I’m His princess.

I no longer need to settle down to anything lesser than the BEST because I’m His princess and I deserve the BEST.
I no longer need to earn my way up, because I’m His princess and He will take care of me.
I no longer need to worry about my finances and get all paranoid because I’m His princess and He is King of all and the earth belongs to Him.
I no longer need to strive for people’s approval, because I’m His princess and He is well pleased with me.
I no longer need to be afraid of losing, because I know I’m His princess and He valued me as precious and priceless.

I’m His princess. I belong to Him.

Being His princess, it means I have authority and possessions over the things that given to me.
Being His princess, it means that I have to help Him to bring His Kingdom down on earth.

Being His princess has a lot of responsibility as well.
But that doesn’t mean that if I failed in doing all that He will not love me.

Because I am first His daughter before I became His princess.
And His love never changes.
He love and accepts me as who I am.

I am His princess and He sees me precious and priceless.

Intention vs. expression

Sunday, October 12, 2014

People often say do not judge a book from its cover.
Some also say that do not judge others merely by what we see from the surface, because there might be a bigger ice beneath the sea that we can’t see yet.

I think all of these statements are true. But I think most of us only relate to these statements when the people we know is misunderstood or others had accused us for something we didn’t intend it to be. No?

I’m a strong believer that the same expression can have different intention.

This should come with no surprise, but I’m no saint.
I too judged others according to what they do or say and I assumed their intention.
Boy! When I found out I was wrong, I was so embarrassed!
I was ashamed of myself that I only assumed the worst and ashamed of myself for getting angry and annoyed for nothing.

Do not judge from what others expressed to you. Find out their intention.
Someone can give you a hug because they really want to love you.
But someone also can give you a hug so that they can stab you at your back.

Same expression, different intention.

I once was the “victim” of this as well.
I admit that I can be rather weird sometimes.
The way I react to things can be a bit different than others.
I’m just queer the way I am.

Anyway, what happened was this.
I reacted in such a way that caused other think that I’m being rude and proud.
That person even thought that I do not honor her.

But the truth was I was burning out and I was stressed out.
To be honest, I acted a bit like a crazy person when there’s no one around me.
But when there is, I expressed it through another way.

So in summary, I was misunderstood.
I do not blame her though, because from her past experience, maybe most people that gave her such expression had the same intention.
But little did she know I had the opposite.

Same expression, different intention.

I think what I’m trying to say is this.
I’m learning not to jump into conclusion from the things that I observe.
I do not want to misunderstand the intention of others and just fix/solve their expression.
Everyone have their own stories and they deserve a chance to share. No?

Don’t over generalize things. Life is complex.

Abnormal

The other day when I went outing with my CG members, we were discussing where to go after our dinner.

One of them mentioned that he had been to almost ALL of the café around and knows where to find the yummiest cake around.

Another one was eagerly talking about the movies they’ve watch and also the number of escape room they’ve been to.

I think is pretty normal for young working adults to be into cafés, movies, gym, karaoke and escape room.

But not me.

If I were to choose, I would rather spend my day at home reading a good book, play my ukulele or watch a very old classic movie while doodling.

If I were to choose, I would rather go to the beach, sit at a corner and read a book, play my ukulele or just observe the people around me.

If I were to choose, I would rather go to any café, read a book, doodle something and observe people around me.

If I were to choose, I rather be alone and have my own quiet place.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t mix with people. Is just the matter of preferences. :]

The longest post ever!

Friday, September 12, 2014

A lot of things had been going on recently and I am compelled to write it all down so that one day when I look back I can see God’s faithfulness and goodness in my life.

So, let’s start from the very beginning.

GF let's meet

Monday, September 8, 2014

I think one of the best gifts I got for my birthday this year is to be able to reconnect with my University housemates!

It all started when Nee Nee wished me Happy Birthday on Instagram.

We ding ding dong dong for a while until we finally chat with each other on Facebook!
I did all those geli stuff and told her I miss her and want to meet up with them!
And coincidentally (thank YOU ABBA), they were going to have a small gathering anytime soon!
I very thick face de mar~ So I invited myself to join the FUN!

SuSu drove me and Sam down to Kulai after picking us up from KL Sentral.
The 3++ hour road trip wasn’t awkward at all!
You think after so long (the last time I saw them was 2010) we will be a bit paiseh and shy to talk to each other, but we weren’t at all!
At least I didn’t lar!

3 of us stayed at Nee Nee’s place where we also met her family members.
I totally forgotten about this, but Su Lin reminded me that I was once her brother’s fans. ><

Nee Nee’s mom was also very kind enough to give all of us advise on our career path and one thing she said which really impacted me a lot is this “Know what you want and work towards it.”.
I think I fit into the category where my career is all over the place, with a degree in finance, a career in another and a passion for something else.
What she said gave me a lot of courage.
I was super close to make some drastic decision until someone pour a pile of cold water on me.
But well, that’s another story to share.

Ok! Enough of my bleh beh bih bleh, is picha time!

Fooooood

Le housemates!
I love how different we are yet blending well together.

I was teasing Su Lin's bulky camera and this is how she reacted! XD

Really enjoyed the entire trip!
We talked about so many things!
BGR, career, family and other people!
Cannot have details here la~
Is all Private and Confidential!

Though it had been so many year, but it felt like nothing had changed between us.
But then again, Su Lin did said I changed a bit! XD

Anyway, we must do it again sometime!

Toodles!

Bring heaven to earth

Saturday, September 6, 2014

As Christian, we are called to bring heaven to earth.

But what does heaven on earth means to you?

Does it mean unlimited source of wealth?
Does it mean unlimited source of fame?

Or is it the absent of pain and suffering?
The absent of rejection and condemnation?
The absent of sins perhaps?

I have no right answer to this question.
But heaven to me is the constant dwelling in the presence of God.

To me, to bring down heaven to earth is bringing down His presence.
And God is Love.

So I’m called to love all as He had loved all.

My own little bubble

Saturday, August 23, 2014

I was hanging out with a few of my colleagues.
One of them is way too enthusiastic.
She kept on clinging to me, hold my hand and stuff.
Most of which I find it very irritating and a little annoying.
So I always give her the cold shoulder.
Most of the time, I just look at her and walk away.

She makes a big fuss about it and complained that I was very cold to her.
Then the other colleague makes a remarkable statement.

"The more enthusiastic you are to her, the cooler she'll be. Don't give her that much of attention and she will come to you herself."

I laughed when I heard that and said that she is one step closer in finishing a thesis about me.
As much as I hate to admit she is right, she is definitely right.

I have my own bubble that I bring along (stay in it) everywhere I go.

Like a normal bubble, you have to approach with care.
Sudden movements sound or touch will burst the bubble!
So I pretty much avoid all of that.

But, if you are smart enough to acknowledge my existent and give me my own space, you are one step closer to knowing me.
Let me do whatever that I need to feel comfortable, and when I'm ready I most probably will approach you myself.
It takes a while before this happens, it might be a few hours, a few days or a few weeks.
Some might take up to a few years! LOL!

The rest of it depends how I feel about you.
Yes. I'm bias. I know.

We can, but we don't need to.

Thursday, August 21, 2014

I think after a while of following Jesus, we tend to fall into this mode where all we can think is what we can and cannot do as a Christian.

I've been through that season as well. It wasn't easy.
I wanted to "quit" following Jesus as my life before that seems "better".
But that's the problem, how can life without Jesus be better than a life with Jesus?
Didn't the bible say that His yoke is easy?

Somehow we forget. We forget that Jesus came not to enforce another set of rules but to set us free.
Jesus died, so that we can see the Father.

Is easy to be caught up in serving and into a list of do’s and don'ts.
Is easy for us to forget that what matters the most is not our doing.
Is easy for us to think that we must do something to achieve another.
Is also easy to forget that God is bigger than us and He is in control.

Abba let me know that without my doing, He still can run the world.
He told me that, not because He wants me to be lazy.
He just wants me to slow down so I can focus on Him.

I love love love spending time with God.
Though I'm not doing much and seem pretty "unproductive" but I have this relationship with God that no one can steal away from me.

I know the world had educated me that money is important, use your time and strength to earn more so that you can have a secure future.
But who can guarantee that I will ever have enough money?

1,000? 10,000? 100,000? 1,000,000?

I can have 1,000,000 and still have not enough when I face a 2,000,000 problem.
You get what I mean?

My time and strength is limited.
One day I'll age and one day I'll die.

So why do I use what is limited to chase after what is unlimited?
Besides, the things of this world belong to my Father.
And I'm His child.

To me, no money, no serving can ever replace God.
A genuine relationship with God is the most wonderful and amazing thing one can ever experience.
